CrossFit isn't just for adults; it's for kids too! Our CrossFit Masi Kids program isn't just about fitness; it's about giving your child a head start on a healthy lifestyle. Through fun and engaging workouts, we instill a love for fitness and teach the importance of nutrition.

Our program follows the same principles as adult CrossFit: varied functional movements at appropriate intensity levels. But for kids, we focus on building a strong foundation before ramping up intensity. Backed by research in exercise science and beyond, our methodology evolves as we learn more about kids and fitness.

CrossFit Kids addresses major health concerns like childhood obesity and Type 2 diabetes. In a world where technology and processed foods dominate, we're breaking the cycle of unhealthy habits.

Giving kids a head start TO a healthy lifestyle and encouragE a love for fitness

The methods we use to teach movement are broad, general, and inclusive — any kid can participate regardless of age or athletic ability. Kids will learn the squat, deadlift, press, and other movement patterns, through age-appropriate progressions and games with their own body weight or light weight equipment.

There are also countless cognitive benefits of training with CrossFit Kids. A significant amount of education occurs within the various CrossFit Kids classes, which means while kids are exercising their bodies, they’re also exercising their brains.

As they learn, new connections are formed in the brain leading to improved attention, mood, and self-confidence. For instance, kids learn to count their reps as they move and to remember in what order to perform movements.

Who is crossfit Kids For?

CrossFit Masi’s kids program is for kids ages 5-10. Participating in CrossFit Kids classes is exciting for young children. This might be your child’s first exposure to CrossFit, or they may have been watching you in class. Now, they have a class of their very own! Classes generally include a fun warm-up, a short workout, and a game.

The focus is heavily on having fun and learning about moving their bodies. Classes include equipment like gymnastics mats, rings, and cones, medicine balls, and light weights such as kettlebells and dumbbells.

Parent ADD-On CLASS

Parents, we see you. We love that you prioritize your children’s health and wellness! But what about you?

Our Parent Add-on Class makes it easy for you to get a workout in right after your children’s class. This class is designed for adults who are new to CrossFit. We will primarily use dumbbells and kettlebells, rather than barbells, and will focus on low impact and beginning gymnastic movements. So bring a snack for your child and let them “cool down” while you get your sweat on!

FAQs

  • The class is designed for children ages 5 to 11 years old. We understand that every child is different and develops at a different pace. Exceptions will be made, on a case by case basis, to allow kids slightly younger or older to participate in the program.

    Children 12 years and older may join their Parent in the Adult Add-on Class at the child fee.

  • Yes! To ensure the kids’ safety, and to create the best learning and most fun environment, we limit the number of children per class. Please use Octiv to register for for classes in advance to ensure your child’s spot in a class.

  • No. To participate in Team Masi CrossFit Kids, children must be fully potty-trained and not wearing diapers. Our coaches cannot assist children in the restrooms.

  • Yes. We limit class sizes to ensure safety, fun and optimal learning. Class sizes are strictly capped and walk-ins will not be permitted if class size exceeds the limit.

  • We do not provide snacks for children, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks.

    NOTE: Bananas are not allowed in the gym - one of our staff has a severe banana allergy!

  • Nope. The CrossFit Kids class is just for kids! We require parents to remain in the blue turf entry area during kids class.

  • Nope. The Parent Add-on class is just for parents! We require children to remain in the blue turf entry area during adult classes for their safety and the safety of other adults in class.

  • Yes, of course! Go grab a coffee or take a break outside the gym!

  • Yes! All of our CrossFit Kids coaches undergo background checks which are renewed annually.

  • Yes, our coaches are all trained in First Aid and CPR and are required to maintain up-to-date certification.
