Next, get sponsors to support your team by pledging per hour of rowing your team completes (up to 24 hours) or per kilometer your team rows during the 24 hour event. You and your teammates can also sponsor your own team.

Individuals who raise R1500 ($100 USD) or more will get a free limited edition 24 Hour Row event tee. Not sure if you can hit that mark? You can order your limited edition tee below.

Why row for 24 hours?

Please complete the form below to sponsor a team or individual for the 24 Hour Row Event. You can choose to pledge per hour of rowing completed (up to 24 hours) or per kilometer rowed during the 24 hour event by the team or individual you designated. You may also pledge a flat amount and have the option to cap your total donation amount at a certain amount of your choosing. Within two weeks after the event, you’ll receive an invoice for your total pledge amount based on the kilometers rowed or hours completed by the team or individual you sponsored. Invoices are due by 1 May 2025 and pledges can be paid by EFT in South Africa or by credit card worldwide.

 FAQs

  • Most teams will row between 120,000 km and 200,000 km. An elite team might row more 300,000 km during the 24 hour event.

  • Absolutely! When completing the Pledge form, you can enter a maximum donation amount. So if the team you’re sponsoring does end up breaking distance records for the 24 hour row, you won’t break your bank account.

  • You will receive an invoice for the donation and your credit card will be charged for the total pledge amount within 2 weeks after the event.

  • Yes, although we don’t recommend it. Any 24 hour race or event is grueling and unless you regularly train for extreme distance and duration events, you’re likely to feel the effects for days afterward. So take care of your body while rowing for a great cause and grab some friends to join you.

  • Yes! We’d be happy to help you find teammates. Depending on where you are in the world, your teammates might be in another country but a virtual team can still fundraise and share the work just like a traditional team.

  • Tees will be shipped within 30 days of the event. Delivery may take 8 weeks or longer depending on your location.

  • Yes, you can absolutely complete the 24 hour challenge on a bike-erg or ski-erg. Road bikes, cross country skiing and other forms of rowing, skiing, or biking not using an erg machine are not eligible for this event at this time. To ensure the safety of every athlete and to be able to track your distance for pledges, we ask you to please participate using an erg type machine.

  • Yes, you can, however we encourage you to participate in teams of 4. If you just can’’t find a fourth teammate, we might be able to match you up with someone looking for a team.
